Step-by-step guide: AnyDesk (Free) — Download, Install, Find Your Address, and Find the App (Mac + PC)

A) Mac (macOS)

1) Download AnyDesk (Free)

  1. Open Safari (or Chrome).

  2. Search AnyDesk download.

  3. Open the official AnyDesk Download page.

  4. Click Download for macOS.

2) Install AnyDesk

  1. Open Finder → click Downloads.

  2. Double-click the AnyDesk .dmg file.

  3. A window opens—drag AnyDesk into the Applications folder (if shown).

  4. Go to Finder → Applications → double-click AnyDesk to open it.

  5. If you get a security pop-up, click Open.

3) Find “Your Address” in AnyDesk

  1. In the AnyDesk window, look for This Desk (or similar).

  2. Find Your Address (a number).

  3. Click it to copy (if there’s a copy option) or write it down exactly.

4) Where to find AnyDesk later (Mac)

  • Finder → Applications → AnyDesk

  • Launchpad → AnyDesk

  • Optional: Right-click AnyDesk → Options → Keep in Dock

5) Common Mac permissions (if prompted)

If screen sharing doesn’t work, macOS may require permissions:

  1. Apple menu  → System Settings (or System Preferences)

  2. Privacy & Security

  3. Look for and allow AnyDesk under:

    • Screen Recording

    • Accessibility

  4. Close and reopen AnyDesk.

B) PC (Windows)

1) Download AnyDesk (Free)

  1. Open Edge (or Chrome).

  2. Search AnyDesk download.

  3. Open the official AnyDesk Download page.

  4. Click Download for Windows.

2) Install AnyDesk

  1. Click the download (usually at the top-right of the browser) or open:

    • File Explorer → Downloads

  2. Double-click the AnyDesk file (often AnyDesk.exe).

  3. AnyDesk may run immediately.

  4. For a full install (recommended):

    • In the AnyDesk window, click Install AnyDesk

    • Click Yes/Allow if Windows asks for permission

    • Finish the install prompts

3) Find “Your Address” in AnyDesk

  1. In the AnyDesk window, look for This Desk (or similar).

  2. Find Your Address (a number).

  3. Click to copy it (or write it down exactly).

4) Where to find AnyDesk later (Windows)

  • Start Menu → type AnyDesk → press Enter

  • Desktop shortcut (if created)

  • Taskbar (if pinned)

  • File Explorer → Downloads (if you only ran it without installing)

  • If installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\AnyDesk (or C:\Program Files\AnyDesk)

Quick tips (both Mac + PC)

  • Only share your AnyDesk Address with someone you trust.

  • If the other person needs access, you may have to click Accept when a connection request appears.
